Christian Mariano started this petition to West Valley Planning Commission Steve Pastorik

The West Valley Planning Commission is trying to bulldoze a staple of our community in order to cram more high density housing into a city who's infrastructure can't handle anymore.

I can personally recall every trip I ever made to the Redwood Drive in.  It was a big part of my childhood, and I'm sure it was for many.  It saddens my soul to see this historic landmark in the crosshairs.

On top of the beloved drive in memories, this venue is home to one of the largest swap meets in the state!  Over 300 small business maintain shops there, and they count on this space to sell their wares.

When will enough be enough?  There are too many high density housing projects popping up as it is.  Why sacrifice something that makes our city unique for something that will only contribute to more overcrowding.  I can't let the city tear this landmark down to satisfy their own greed.  Utah's real estate market is BOOMING, so it's very easy to see this cash grab.

Let your voice be heard and sign this petition.  You can also e mail Planning Director Steve Pastorik at steve.pastorik@wvc-ut.gov.

There is also an electronic public hearing on June 9th. 2021 at 4:00 P.M.
