Paul Wells started this petition to West Sussex County Council

West Sussex County Council are introducing a new booking system at the Bognor Regis household waste & recycling centre shortly to save on the queues.

Not only have they shortened the hours and days of the centre being opened you will now have to book a slot to dump your rubbish.

The booking system may sound like a good idea, although not confirmed on the WSCC website local press reports state you may only be able to visit once a week.

This is not the service our local residents deserve, with increased development and the population growing this site is only going to be in more demand. It's clear the site has out grown it's current location... it's also causing problems for the existing business in the area.

With all the development being planned locally WSCC could be exploring other sites and talking with developers who want to build locally. Could a new site be delivered through a 106 planning obligation at no cost to the tax payer?

The existing site could be freed up providing a site for smaller business units and also providing an income for the council long term

It's been mentioned many times before on social media why WSCC are not looking at offering a recycling shop where goods being dumped can be sold, with profits either going back into pay for the service or to charity.

This Petition calls on the West Sussex County Council to extend the opening hours and reverse back to a 7 day operation.

The petition also asks the County Council to look at a more suitable and sustainable site within the Bognor Regis area to provide a household waste & recycling centre fit for purpose and to encompass the growth of the area.

The Petition also requests West Sussex County Council provide a recycling shop within a new site.
