Traffic through Witney is so awful that Bridge Street has air pollution well above safe levels. The single change that would reduce it is to make the A40 junction in east Witney, over Oxford Hill, into a fourway junction. If all the traffic, cars and lorries from Burford direction, could come off at Oxford Hill and carry on towards Cogges, Madley Park, North Leigh and Hanborough, that would make a huge difference. If all the traffic from Madley and Cogges could head towards Cheltenham without going through town it would make such a difference.

Shores Green is on the list of projects to do for the County Council. However we want it to be the top priority, and not have to wait for a new housing development to start work on the junction.

We want to see planning, including compulsory purchase of the necessary land, to begin now.
