Northampton North Labour started this petition to West Northamptonshire Council

Bus fares to get children to school can take up a big chunk of the family budget - up to £37 a week for a parent to take two children to school. And the cost of bus fares can make it hard for young people to get around. In other places - London, Scotland and even Milton Keynes - young people have free or very cheap bus fares.

Lots of children don't qualify for free transport to school, but still have long bus journeys which leave their families out of pocket. Lots of people have complained to us about the cost of bus fares for families that are struggling to get back to life as normal after lockdown.

Northampton North Labour is campaigning to get free bus passes so that children and young people can travel safely and cheaply on environmentally friendly public transport. Good for the planet, good for family budgets. So please sign up to support our campaign.
