West Lindsey District Council have recently removed the memorial stone for N*****, the black labrador belonging to Wing Commander Guy Gibson V.C and mascot of 617 Squadron, the Dambusters, from its place marking the dog's grave.

We call upon the Council to respect the memory of Nigger and all members of 617 Squadron, past and present, living and dead, especially those who took part in Operation Chastise - the Dambusters raid on the night of 16-17 May 1943 - of whom 53 were killed

We request that the Council immediately reinstate the original memorial stone and ensure that it is preserved..
