pit bulls to be able to fly and travel through and out Ontario.

pit bulls to be able to fly and travel through and out Ontario.
The Issue
Discriminating against a breed to be able to fly, especially when kennelled is ridiculous. They are condemning this breed to death when rescues are trying to save their lives to bring them to a home that would love to have them. Fear of this breed is ludicrous and uneducated. Like any dog, its training, not the breed.
According to bill 132. Section 1 of the Act is amended by adding the following definitions:
"pit bull" includes,
(a) a pit bull terrier,
(b) a Staffordshire bull terrier,
(c) an American Staffordshire terrier,
(d) an American pit bull terrier,
(e) a dog that has an appearance and physical characteristics that are substantially similar to those of dogs referred to in any of clauses (a) to (d); ("pit-bull")"pound" has the same meaning as in the Animals for Research Act; ("fourrière")"regulation" means a regulation made under this Act. ("règlement")
Section 6
6. Except as permitted by this Act or the regulations, no person shall,
(a) own a pit bull;
(b) breed a pit bull;
(c) transfer a pit bull, whether by sale, gift or otherwise;
(d) abandon a pit bull other than to a pound operated by or on behalf of a municipality, Ontario or a designated body;
(e) allow a pit bull in his or her possession to stray;
(f) import a pit bull into Ontario; or
(g) train a pit bull for fighting.
By not being able to transfer a pit bull, many have been euthanized to follow "regulations". They state that the bill is to give protection to the breed due to past incidents with atrocious owners/animal abusers. How can they state its to protect the breed when they can not even transfer the dog to a loving home?
If you have a pit bull, do not travel through Ontario as you will be in contravention of the law if you are found to have imported a pit bull into the province. Your pit bull may be subject to seizure and you may be subject to a fine and/or jail time. Please note that exceptions exist for Ontario residents who are out of the province with their pit bulls for less than three months. Limited exceptions also exist for individuals coming to Ontario for purposes of participating in recognized dog shows and flyball tournaments.
Dog shows and flyable tournaments! So they are allowed to fly to compete but if not in agility condemned.
They may have had this bill pass, but the transfer act has to change to save their lives.
