The Issue

We Went up to Dalnottar cemetery yesterday to visit our twins and we were met with this notice from West Dunbartonshire Council - basically demanding us to remove items from the lair/grave!!! We had to put stones around the headstone as the ground/grass has subsided and due to that the foundation of the headstone was showing and very unsightly. It wasn't very nice to look at so the stones cover this and make it look a lot better!! We have been left feeling distraught by this notice - our twins have been buried in the cemetery for 11 years and we have always kept the lair lovely - most times having to clear up the mess made by the groundsmen who have no respect for people's property!! We were met yesterday with other people's things strewn across the place when we visited yesterday - clearly no care is being given. You are demanding us "the title deed holders" to remove our things and some people have already done so for fear that their things will be taken down with no care given. This is an atrocious act by WDC - the cemetery is a special place for grieving friends and family and you can see how much time we have taken to make sure our lairs are kept nice. In previous years - you thought it a good idea to use some sort of chemical which burnt all of the grass and made the place look terrible!! If we remove our items - I am giving you 28 days notice for you to get the ground back to it's original condition!! The grounds are subsiding and you have failed to maintain this.
