• The West Bloomfield Township has approved a plan  (at April 26th meeting) that they will have a planned "controlled burn" at the site of Jacob's Drain in October of 2021.  The area is a nature preserve, which is very close to homes and a natural gas transmission station. People and wildlife enjoy this protected area.  The Kimberley North Board of Directors already expressed opposition to this plan, and cited the following concerns:
• the proximity to the natural gas transmission station -- Multiple gas mains and transmission lines run beneath the property.
  the close proximity to our homes and business
• the risk of mixing fire and natural gas – potential for explosion
  air quality – potential toxic fumes and ash from chemical residues from pesticides and herbicides used in the past
• impact on the wildlife inhabiting the Jacobs Drain property

Action plan: Please contact any township official and let them know of your displeasure, as they have not had any opportunity for public comment for the people who will be most affected by this ludicrous encroachment on our rights to clean air. Also, please attend the virtual meeting on Monday, August 9 at 6pm and voice your opinion.
