Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, educational institutions were among the first to be closed due to safety measures. Due to this pandemic, all educational institutions were closed since 16th March 2020, which is hampering the educational system and the students as well.
On 14th April 2020, the state government of West Bengal announced that the even semester examinations of under-graduate and post-graduate studies will be clubbed together with the following odd semesters except for the final semesters. The decision is being outlined as "extreme times call for extreme measures".
However, in this case, the cure seems deadlier than the disease.

Problems with this decision:
1. Students are not machines, which can learn and deliver like the government is asking. This will adversely affect our scorecards, our knowledge output, and our career as well.
2. Many students who have backlogs in previous exams especially final semester students will face worse situations where they have to appear for their backlogs after the final semester.

Proposed solutions:
1. Postpone the even semester by three months and the following odd semester by a month.
2. Provide extra classes at this time.
