We have past one hurdle to repeal Windfall Elimination Provision and Government Pension Offset. We have 292 co-sponsors for H.R. 82 Social Security Fairness Act thus forcing a vote on the House floor. "The rules mandate a floor vote on any bill that receives 290 co-sponsors.

This will be the first time in history that a floor vote has been taken on any bill to repeal or modify WEP/GPO. The vote will likely be in September", stated by Representative Mike Johnson.

Our 2nd hurdle is when the House vote on H.R. 82 in September.

If the bill passes by simple majority (218 of 435), the bill moves to the Senate. In the Senate, the bill is assigned to another committee and, if released, debated and voted on.

Our 3rd hurdle is to get the companion bill to H.R. 82, that is in the Senate now, S.1302 to 60 co-sponsors to ensure it is voted on. We currently have 40 co-sponsors.

The 4th hurdle is to get 60 votes in the Senate.

What is the 60 vote rule?

The Senate adopted a rule to allow a two-thirds majority to end a filibuster, a procedure known as "cloture." In 1975 the Senate reduced the number of votes required for cloture from two-thirds of senators voting to three-fifths of all senators duly chosen and sworn, or 60 of the 100-member Senate.

Our last hurdle and finale hurdle is # 5, that is when S.1302 is past in the Senate and sent to The President for his signature. We can get this done with you all support, thank you.

We must continue to thank our current co-sponsors of H.R.82 and continue to encourage the non co-sponsors to support H.R.82 to ensure we obtain the 218 votes needed in the House.

The campaign is to encourage 20 more Senators to co-sponsor S.1302 have begun. This Year is also the 2022 Midterms.

There are 33 Senators seats up for reelection and all the House 435 seats are up for reelection. The Senate have 3 classes, Class III term ends 2023, Class I term ends 2025 and Class II term ends 2027.
