Justice for "C's Get Degrees"

The Issue

As many of you are aware, the RA's of Evansway/Tudbury held a trivia contest on the 30th of January 2019 from 7:30 pm to 9 pm. There were several rounds of trivia including... a bonus round. When the trivia team "C's get degrees" questioned the rules of the round, they were told REPEATEDLY by at least 5 judges that, during the bonus round, where you wager points, incorrect responses would result in point deductions. One judge is even quoted as saying "Asking us the rules multiple times will not change them." The group in question then deduced that a bet of 0 points was the best option, as they were in first place by a substantial margin. After responses were collected, and nothing could be done to affect their bet, one of the judges made a last minute unannounced rule change stating that incorrect responses would not deduct points, rendering the team's initial strategy invalid. As a result, the first seeded team did not gain the points they would have, had they been given the correct rule by roughly 50% of the judges they asked. This arbitrary rule change cost the group at least $60 worth of gift cards; an amount that makes all the difference to struggling college students such as themselves. Had the price been trivial or non-existent, the outcome of the game would have carried little to no weight outside of the event. When the prize is this substantial and every penny counts, rules must be clear and enforced to the very end. This being said, "C's get degrees" is asking for your help, in the name of sportsmanship, justice, and the financial struggle that all college student face.
