Senedd to superstars show support for Swansea Sound.

Every day we're comforted by the fact that you too feel so passionate about keeping our local radio station on the air. Yesterday was an extra ordinary day because both Welsh Hollywood actor Michael Sheen and Welsh International singing superstar Bonnie Tyler sent strong messages of support in favour of keeping Swansea Sound local. We’re very grateful.

We're also grateful to hear many local councillors are showing their support. Welsh Labour Politician Mike Hedges has made a record of statement to the Senedd in Cardiff in support of local radio. You can see that here:

Finally support for our campaign continues to build. Remember Swansea Sound is much more than a local radio station.
It was there for the Queen's Jubilee visit to Swansea in '77, the snow storm of '82 and the miners' strike of '84/85. It launched initiatives like the landscape project for young kids, helped to raise money for local charities through The Swansea Sound Christmas appeal, Cash for Kids and the Mumbles Raft Race.
It has a strong relationship with local businesses and advertisers. It’s focused on life in Swansea and South West Wales and tells you what you want to know. It allows you a voice - It's family, it knows you and you know it.
It knows Swansea’s rich history, but let’s keep it from becoming part of it.
Let's make sure our voice is heard and do everything we can to show the new owners of our beloved radio station just how unique our relationship is with it, our unique “welshness” and the unique area it serves.
Share and like our Facebook page and keep spreading word of the petition.
