Reopen Campsites and Holiday Parks in Wales and allow travel to them

Camp sites and caravan parks in Wales have been closed since the beginning of lockdown. Some are large businesses, but most are small family run businesses that rely on the trade for their livelihoods. Hundreds of families face bankruptcy if they cannot salvage their season by opening in time for the Summer Holidays. The industry will be obliterated in Wales whereas in England it is more likely to survive as its reopening sooner.
With strict controls on the types of camping unit and the numbers of attendees at sites, along with safety advice, Social distancing can easily be maintained and people with caravans and motor homes have their own toilet and washing facilities reducing the need to use on site facilities.
The industry needs this to survive. They have been told that there ‘may’ be an announcement in July. If it is the end of July it would be too late as there would need to be a notice period to prep for opening and they would miss a significant proportion of their busiest time. The holiday industry in Wales needs this.
