Wells Fargo undo the block on my daughter's account to pay for my son's surgery in Spain!
The Issue
My son, David, recently scraped and borrowed a large amount of money to fly to Spain with his sister, Angel, on August 29, 2016 to have a special surgical procedure done on his spine that is not yet available in the USA.
This procedure will cure the painful and debilitating spinal problem he's suffered with for 10 years. It involves a 20 day stem cell culture using his own stem cells. He has already had two surgeries on his spine that haven't resolved the problem. This stem cell procedure in Barcelona Spain so far has a 100% success record.
Now that they are in Spain and have already begun the process of culturing his cells for the surgery, Wells Fargo bank is refusing to allow them to access their own money to pay for this procedure! WF must allow them to access their funds or the procedure scheduled to occur in 2 weeks will be called off!
Both David and Angel are humanitarian servants. They have given the greater part of these past 12 years to volunteer with service projects around the world! Never asking for financial support from any organizations. They both have worked hard to support themselves while volunteering with very little support from family members.
David has helped in poor villages in 2nd and 3rd world countries, with orphanages and in many other locations around the world and at home in the USA. He helps people wherever he is at. He has led and single handedly completed projects that have included renovating and constructing buildings, water sources, food sources, wired and wireless computer labs, servicing and rebuildiing a variety of vehicles, RVs, large equipment, electronics, .... the list is quite long!
Angel has assisted David in some of his projects and also helped with several other humanitarian teams including medical teams. She's taught children to read, helped care for the children's needs, taught diet and nutrition to adults, plus helped with whatever the needs were at the time.
Neither of them deserve to be in this crisis situation they are in today!
Upon arrival in Spain my husband borrowed the last $10,000 needed to make the final payment necessary to insure my son's surgical procedure appointment in September. My husband transferred the money into my daughter's Wells Fargo bank account from his Wells Fargo line of credit. Not a problem.
The next day my daughter did an online transfer of the first half, $5000, to her brother's account, since the medical facility in Barcelona preferred payment be made by him in person.
She understood that her transfer had gone through ok at that point. But soon found out that Wells Fargo had blocked her transfer! Then after 3 FULL DAYS of making phone calls to many Wells Fargo employees from several departments Wells Fargo has not only blocked that transfer, but is now blocking her from accessing her personal bank account in every possible way! She is no longer able to use her debit card or access her account online! This leaves them stranded with no money at all!
Wells Fargo told my daughter the ONLY way they will allow her to access her own checking account is if she fly ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE USA FOR ONE DAY, and then walk into a WF bank and have a manager call the WF fraud department from that location with her standing next to the WF employee during the call! They told her that after she does this, she can fly back to Spain to assist her brother during his surgery! THIS IS ABSURD!
She and her brother are now stranded in a foreign country and left with very little cash, staying in a cheap hostel, without enough money for food! How is she supposed to get ANY funds to pay for the $2000 RT flight to the USA and back to Barcelona again with no access to her funds!?!
My son even called his personal WF banker in the small town where he lives, who spent hours on her phone trying to help them resolve this issue by calling the WF upper level management personnel, which didn't solve this problem!
In summary; because of WELLS FARGO'S REFUSAL TO ALLOW MY SON AND DAUGHTER TO ACCESS THEIR OWN $10,000+ from their own personal WF checking account, she and my son are now overseas in Barcelona suffering WITH NO MONEY FOR FOOD, nor the ability to pay for accommodation! ALSO MY SON WILL LOOSE THE $20,000 HE ALREADY PAID to the doctor and HE WILL MISS OUT ON THIS DESPERATELY NEEDED SPINAL SURGERY!
PLEASE sign this petition asking the WELLS FARGO BANK CEO and the WF Fraud Department to allow my son and daughter to access to their OWN MONEY IMMEDIATELY!!
Wells Fargo and other US banking institutions need to change their systems and educate their employees to know the difference between thieves and honest customers. They need to make sure that their customers come first and that customers are able to access their own funds at all times!
Wells Fargo, PLEASE correct this terrible wrong NOW!
I have seen that Change.org petitions have helped people's voices to be heard and moved corporations to do the right thing. Especially when it looks bad on their business not to correct their errors!
PLEASE take just one minute to SIGN THIS PETITION to WF to do the right thing and help my daughter to be able to access her bank account so her brother will get the surgery he desperately needs to live a normal life again!
