Bring Soul of the Ultimate Nation Back to Global

Bring Soul of the Ultimate Nation Back to Global

Il problema

Soul of The Ultimate Nation is a massive multiplayer online role playing game, currently Service by Webzen in Korea, China and Japan. It was famous at release because of the stunning (esthetically pleasant and refined) graphics for the time, for the presence of classic mmorpg mechanics and because it was relatively easier compared to the modern skillshot based mmorpgs due to the presence of the old Tab-targeting mechanics more familiar with the World of Warcraft universe. The Original Soundtrack by Howard Shore is amazing, comparable to the Guild Wars 2 OST from Jeremy Soule. It was originally realeasd also for an international public after some time, with many servers servicing it, but after some years they were all shut down.

One year and half so, it was published by a Facebook user currently playing in Korea an email from a Korean Webzen administrator, saying that it was programmed  to be out in the first half of 2019 a "New Edition", a revamped and Steam serviced version of the game. 1 year ago another user from the same Facebook group contacted a similar source (sun-help@webzen.com, responding for the "Limited Edition" currently not globally serviced), and was answered that there was a delay on the globalization of it.

Now it's February 2020, the situation at the moment is as described:

The Limited Edition is perfectly going on China, Korea, and Japan.

It is actually possibile to go to webzengames.webzen.com, download the global client, create a character, and log in the game. This site is so many years that it's accessible, whilst it's not direcly linked or showed on webzen.com site. It was actually possibile to log in and create a character 1 year ago, but it wasn't possibile to EFFECTIVELY go in the game.  The game is functionally playable, but the quest system is bugged for the 95% of it. There are many players whom i talked to, logging in daily and consistently, so the server is, for unknown reasons, up and working. The server has, apparently, classes that weren't featured in the original global version when it was shut down, a slightly different ingame  interface, enhanced fonts and definition. It is possibile to proceed until, the third map. The second town is inaccesibile, the portal leading to it is inoperative, so basically only 1% of the game is accessibile. It is however possibile to go into every dungeon of the game, up to max level. Some text is in english, the latter content probably in Korean. The shop is closed, the AC system will crush the game, as well as the Event section. There is still sunonline.webzen.com page saying that Sun if offline but who knows when it will come back to global.

So I tried investigating again, and I'm contacting as many sources I can in search for an answer, asking if there are news and why the global server was put partially up:

Webzen.com tickets: not answering, still waitining for an answer

Sun-help@webzen.com: being answered that they can only respond for the limited version of the game, currently not globally serviced and so they cannot answer on WHEN (not if) it will be global. Still, it's a non-answer.

Facebook groups: not answering. Not caring about the petition.

sun-help@webzen.co.kr: not contacted since didn't answer (me) last year.

I agreed with the other players met online that we had to organize something make things more clear. There are plenty of people that would like to play it again, but due to lack of information, exahustion caused by waiting, and disorganization given all the previous factors, it wasn't possibile and it is difficult now to build a strong single collective voice to make things change.

And now comes this petition. In this istance, I'm trying to represent as many players as I can, even those who would like to play it again but are not aware that people are activating for it. We need your help! Share this instance, also if you have gamer friends!

A personal parenthesis: It was a great game, and the loss of the global server was personally an unspeakable grief. I'd like to share the deep desire of being able to play it again, and I'd like that people's voice longing to play it again could be heard, as one community that would like to take RESPONSIBILITY  of keeping a server, a single global server alive as a community of players.

Please, upvote our cause, and share our voice so we could reach more people

And last but not least, please, Webzen, give us Soul of the Ultimate Nation. Back, to, GLOBAL!
