Our wildlife population is dwindling, due in part to what people have ignorantly termed, "sport hunting." The word "sport" typically refers to a game played in fun and fairly. These hunts are not fun, or fair.   Its time these hunts were termed more accurately and accordingly. Trophy hunts and canned hunts are done out of greed. Hunters are stealing away our wildlife and using it to decorate their homes. That's bad enough, but poaching for Ivory, horns and fur...as well as trapping and snaring also falls within this same classification, as does product testing. Animals are on the brink of extinction due to greed. It's time we strip this activity of it's almost pleasant title and call it what it is: Greed Hunting.   Greed hunting- when an animal is killed out of want, for human desire, not necessity. Poaching, snaring, trapping, trophy hunting, animal testing and canned hunting are all forms greed hunting. Example: Rhino's, elephants and lions are on the brink of extinction due to greed hunting. Dictionaries will not change or add new words that are not used regularly. It's time to call it what it is and tell Miriam- Webster's to do the same. Greed will cause extinction...
