We want the Webster County, WV County Commission to open their animal shelter to the public.

Last year, 551 dogs were euthanized in Webster County. That is more than one dog a day. We have almost reached that total in the last 10 months of this year. The current policy does not allow rescues to pull from the shelter or the community to visit the shelter. No one is allowed to take pictures and network the dogs to find them homes. The dogs that are not owner claimed have zero chance of survival. We are asking that the County Commission open their shelter to us and other rescues to pull dogs. We are also asking that the County Commission allow the general public to view and adopt the dogs housed there. We would like the hold period to be extended to one month to allow time for the dogs to be adopted or pulled by rescue. We would also like the opportunity to take pictures of the animals and network them to increase their chances of survival.
