Today, Judge Stengel allowed for a stay in Christy Tuchel's civil case filed against the Sheboygan County Humane Society and the Sheboygan County District Attorney.
The proceedings could pick up again after a separate criminal case — also involving animals at the former Kinship Companions kennel and in which Tuchel is a defendant — wraps up.
"Entering a stay in this case is appropriate because it will conserve both the courts' and the parties' limited resources and avoid litigating the same issues twice," a court filing requesting the stay reads.
Tuchel filed a petition against the humane society in July. In it, she alleged costs the Humane Society had tried billing her to care for the animals were unreasonable and the dogs had been improperly taken from her. (Thankfully the dogs are being well taken care of while in the possession of the Sheboygan Co. Humane Society)
Christy Tuchel, Anthony Keyport, and Breanna Mikula have all been ordered to NOT have any animals in their possession. If you have any information that they have animals, please notify the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Department immediately.
The preliminary hearing in the criminal case has been set for Nov 1, 2017 at 3:30 p.m in Sheboygan County, Circuit Court Branch 1, Hon. Edward Stengel.
If possible, please attend and show your support for the dogs.
