We Want a The Walking Dead Series Focused on the Outbreak’s Early Days
The Issue
We, the Walking Dead fans, respectfully urge AMC to greenlight a new Walking Dead spin-off dedicated to the untold story of the world’s collapse during the initial outbreak — a grounded, terrifying, and realistic series showing how civilization fell during the early days of the apocalypse. Since the shows release on October 31st, 2010. Fans have been asking a spin off show in the Walking Dead Universe that’s focuses on the collapse of society and the early days of the outbreak. April 2010 - September 2010 (Walking Dead timeline of patient zero to roughly a month since the disease went global.
Why this story matters:
There have only been limited media in the walking dead universe that shows the early days of the outbreak (Fear TWD, TWD flash backs and Dead in the water). This show can really set a new fresh tone that has never been attempted before in TWD media. Fear only scratched the surface of the early day but was rushed. How did the government fall? What was the mass panic like? This isn’t just about zombies — it’s about how people respond when the world falls apart. Think Chernobyl meets Fear the Walking Dead. A ticking time bomb of the upcoming undead apocalypse.
This show can cover new perspectives of the outbreak from Police, Doctors, Government, morticians, Every day people, Government, the presidency, the MILITARY, which people have been begging for a reason on how the military collapsed (again fear only showed snippets of the military) but people want a more fleshed out story.
The show would need to be 3 seasons long with 12 episodes per season. Start a day zero and build up the suspense and dread of the dead coming back to life and the panic of society. Name it The Walking Dead: Wildfire
Let us see the fall.
Let us feel the fear, confusion, and desperation.
Let us see how the governments, societies and world fell apart.
Let us witness how society fell before Rick Grimes woke up.
