We Voted Leave and welcome immigration to an independent Britain

We Voted Leave and welcome immigration to an independent Britain
The Issue
We voted to leave a European political institution called the European Union. The question of closing the border to immigration was not on the ballot paper.
The undersigned voted for democracy, accountability, individuality, and freedom - values all threatened by the EU. We do not feel threatened by immigration. We accept responsibility to ensure immigrants continue to feel welcome in an independent Britain.
The Leave side won, narrowly, with the support of many who either endorse immigration or did not find the issue, despite the heat around it, to be relevant to the question on the paper. Taken with the pro-immigration Remain vote we believe the anti-immigration position failed to secure a majority at the referendum.
