Dear Friends and Supporters,
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to each of you—nearly 30,000 strong—who have signed our petition at change.org/ExtraditeTamimi, calling on the U.S. State Department to press Jordan to honor its 1995 extradition treaty and surrender Ahlam Tamimi, the confessed terrorist who orchestrated the 2001 Sbarro pizzeria bombing in Jerusalem.
That horrific attack stole the life of our daughter, Malki, along with 15 others, including three American citizens. Your support has been a pillar of strength for my wife, Frimet, and me as we continue this exhausting fight for justice.
I’m writing with an important update and a renewed call to action. On July 25, 2025, Fox News published a factual overview, authored by Benjamin Weinthal, of our decade-long struggle to bring Tamimi to trial in the United States where she faces federal charges. The article, “Grieving parents of American terror victim plead with top criminal prosecutor for justice”, details our recent virtual meeting on July 17, 2025, with U.S. Attorney Jeanine F. Pirro, where we urged action to enforce the extradition treaty with Jordan.
The Fox News piece underscores the U.S. State Department’s repeated calls for Jordan to hold Tamimi accountable—calls that have yet to yield results despite the passing years. State’s public statements, however, pointedly fail to mention that in harboring Tamimi all these years, Jordan breaches the bilateral treaty contracted by the late King Hussein (father of today’s king) and President Bill Clinton.
[Though many of you have already received this additional link, I want to also mention David Isaac’s informative piece that appeared three days earlier via JNS: “Parents of teen slain in Sbarro pizzeria bombing meet with US District Attorney Jeanine Pirro”]
As we approach a painful milestone—August 9, 2025, which marks the start of the twenty-fifth year without our beloved Malki—we are more determined than ever to seek justice. This coming year, we plan to organize a series of public events to shine a spotlight on the injustice our case has endured and to amplify our demand that no parents of an American child should face the demeaning treatment we have experienced from every White House and State Department since 2013.
Jordan continues to shield Tamimi, who remains unrepentant and even boasts about her actions, despite a $5 million reward for her capture and her place on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists list. This injustice is compounded by the fact that Jordan receives nearly $1.5 billion annually in U.S. foreign aid, making it one of the highest-ranked recipients of such support (see https://www.congress.gov/crs-product/RL33546
Yet, few Americans are aware that the State Department, while overseeing this substantial taxpayer-funded largesse, has consistently demeaned and ignored our pleas, effectively blocking Tamimi’s extradition and shielding Jordan from accountability.
We need your help to make this year a turning point. The U.S. State Department has not faced sufficient pressure to publicly demand that Jordan comply with its treaty obligations. We ask you to join us in raising the temperature and volume of this call for justice by taking these steps:
- Contact your U.S. Representative and Senators. Share the Fox News and JNS articles and our petition (change.org/ExtraditeTamimi). Urge them to press the State Department to finally take a firm, public stance with Jordan to extradite Tamimi to face U.S. justice. Find their contact information at www.house.gov and www.senate.gov
- Amplify our message. Share the articles, our petition, and news of our upcoming events on social media, with friends, and in your community to build awareness and support.
- Stay with us. We will keep you informed about our planned events and progress in the case. Your voices are critical to ensuring that justice for Tamimi's American victims - Malki, Judith Shoshana Greenbaum and Chana Nachenberg, and all the victims of the Sbarro atrocity - is not denied.
- Share your ideas and suggestions with us: thisongoingwar@gmail.com
Frimet and I are heartbroken but resolute. With your support, we can ensure that Tamimi’s freedom does not mock the memory of those we lost. Together, let’s send a powerful message in this 25th year: no nation, not even a U.S. ally like Jordan, should harbor terrorists who murder Americans while receiving billions in American aid.
Thank you for standing with us in this fight for justice.
With gratitude and unwavering commitment,
Arnold Roth
