We have started this petition to ask the town of Eaton to vote no on the Xcel Energy Plan of Northern Colorado. While we recognize the need to update the infrastructure, however we do not support the current location of the substation and 240kv transmission lines. This would directly impact the Eaton industrial park and bus barn, which will be located next to the substation. The Eaton Commons and Eaton Commons Park as well as Hawk Stone subdivision with the placement of 240kv transmission lines located throughout their neighborhoods, and the residents in Eaton as there will be 150 foot transmission towers running through the town.
The town of Eaton is responsible to protect the health and well being to the residents and business owners of this community, as well as our property values and the towns aesthetic appeal. We are asking you to find another option that everyone can be comfortable with and vote no to the current plan and its location.
