“WE THE PEOPLE, NOT WE THE BILLIONAIRES” 

A Letter from Citizens of San Angelo, Tx and District 11

 

Congressman August Pfluger,

 

As members of your constituency, we demand that you listen to our concerns regarding the current administration’s coup d’etat, and take accountability for the role YOU are playing in the dissolution of the United Stated of America. 

 

In a standard message that you offer as a response when your constituents write to your office, you state:

 

“It is an incredible, humbling honor to swear an oath before God to defend the Constitution of the United States and serve the people of the 11th District of Texas in Congress.

Our district is home to the most decent, honest, and hard-working men and women who fuel, feed, and clothe this Nation. I appreciate the trust you have placed in me, and I will continue championing the values of this district and standing up for our Texas way of life.”

 

Do you? 

Do you truly think the values of our district include selling us out to people who can best be described as oligarchical sycophants? 

 

Do you think the citizens of our district truly WANT to see decades of social services that have been created to protect and support those most in need – that keep many citizens of Congressional District 11 fueled, fed, and clothed - completely obliterated? 

Because that is what we see you supporting every day that you do NOT stand up to stop the actions of Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and their blatantly unconstitutional Department of Government Efficiency, otherwise known as DOGE. 

 

Many supporters of DOGE think we need to wait and see how Elon’s actions will impact our government and our fellow citizens before jumping to conclusions about its success or failure.

I will admit that if there is anything that every American can agree on, it’s that the government budget is bloated and the way our tax dollars are spent needs to be addressed.

 

IF DOGE were only examining the functionality of other government departments and agencies to create a comprehensive report that eventually gets presented to the American people, by way of Congress, that would be one thing. 

But we aren’t getting a comprehensive report of inefficiencies and recommendations.

Instead, we hear after-the-fact reports of federal employees being fired with little to no notice; we hear of agencies being dismantled from within; and we learn that programs that fund services and organizations that provide for the citizens of district 11 are disappearing. 

The severe LACK of oversight by the American people through their congressional representatives, such as yourself, is effectively destroying any efficiency that DID exist in our federal government. 

 

HOW DOES THIS SERVE YOUR CONSTITUENTS? How can you continue to say that you are championing the values of the “decent, honest, and hard-working men and women” you represent? 

Speaking of who you represent – how dare you also sit in Congress and deny your trans constituents the right to exist as their most authentic selves.

Yes, you have trans constituents and you have actively revoked their right to exist. That is NOT in service of your constituents. 

 

If WE THE PEOPLE could control the budget, I bet we would start with your salary - you and your colleagues who are paid to represent us, but whose actions make it clear that you are not working for us, you are only working for your own interests. 

Perhaps, because WE THE PEOPLE don’t pay you as much as your billionaire buddies, you don’t think you owe us that oath you took to the Constitution. 

 

Let me take a moment to remind you of the oath that you claim to be such a “humble honor to swear before God”:

 

“I, August Pfluger, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same (the Constitution); that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

 

Do you really think God is standing beside you as an ally while you sell the interests of your constituents to the highest bidders?

 

It is true that the Constitution of the United States outlines bureaucratic processes that may not be convenient, and may take time to complete, but these processes are required to protect the citizens of this nation from actions that mimic the rule of the Monarchy that our founders successfully fought against. 

How dare you do NOTHING as the bureaucratic safeguards of our Constitution are obliterated by the richest man on the entire planet. 

 

Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and the Department of Government Efficiency CAN and MUST be stopped by Congress on behalf of the American People. 

The actions they are taking without Congressional oversight can be described as nothing other than a COUP and it is past time for you and the rest of Congress to acknowledge that. 

 

WE THE PEOPLE, who you work for, who your office is designated to represent, demand that you honor your oath to support and defend the Constitution against the domestic enemies currently infiltrating our federal government.
