We, the undersigned residents and supporters of Fuquay-Varina, respectfully request the resignation of the commissioners, mayor, and town manager who supported the recent decision regarding the Hilltop Needmore project.
Over the course of this process, many residents attended meetings, submitted comments, wrote emails, made phone calls, and spoke publicly in an effort to express their concerns. Despite this significant public participation, many citizens believe their voices were not adequately considered in the final decision.
This petition is not based on personal attacks or allegations of wrongdoing. Rather, it reflects a loss of confidence in the ability of the current leadership to represent the priorities and concerns of a substantial portion of the community.
Public office depends on public trust. When a significant number of citizens believe that trust has been lost, they have the right to express their concerns and request new leadership.
Therefore, we respectfully call upon the commissioners, mayor, and town manager who supported this decision to resign from their positions and allow the community the opportunity to move forward under leadership that is more responsive to public input, transparency, and accountability. This petition will be delivered to the Mayor, the Board of Commissioners, and the Town Manager of Fuquay-Varina.
By signing this petition, we affirm our belief that the citizens of Fuquay-Varina deserve leaders who actively listen to the community and carefully consider the concerns of those they serve.
