When a farmer plants corn, he hopes to see a profit so he can buy fertilizer and corn seed for the following year.  When a farmer grows and harvests his hay, again, he hopes to see a profit so he can purchase baler twine, fuel and keep his equipment in good repair for the following year.  Thankfully, the farmer and the local businesses share in this profit

With this Community Wind Project, the community receives far more income than the landowner who leases the land to the wind turbine company.  There is a big misconception that the farmer is making a "killing" by wanting these turbines but instead is wanting to preserve the open land for the future and not for a housing development.
