We Support Jerry McDonald, General Manager of Coronado Shores

The Issue

We are asking for all Coroando Shores Owners and Renters who think our community looks significantly better now than it did 5 years ago to speak up NOW.

A majority vote of the Coronado Shores L and R Committee refuse to give Coronado Shores General Manager Jerry McDonald a requested 7% raise on his 2023 and 2024 salary to match an employment offer that Jerry received to join a different large master planned community as it's new General Manager.  Jerry now plans to leave Coronado Shores for his new job on June 10, 2022.

The reality of the situation is that L and R's penny-wise and pound-foolish  decision is actually going to cost the Landscape and Recreation Committee over 125-150k more than Jerry's requested 7% wage increase in additional, unbudgeted expenses over the next 3 years related to hiring and retaining a new General Manager.

In the 5 years Jerry McDonald has been the General Manager, Coronado Shores has never looked better.  The lagoon is gorgeous, the landscaping is beautiful, the Beach Club is energized, fun and profitable, we have gorgeous tennis and pickleball courts and almost EVERY amenity in our community has been upgraded or is planned for an upgrade in the near future.

The L and R Represenatives for La Princessa, Cabrillo, La Playa, Las Flores and Las Palmas' refuse to vote YES to give Jerry McDonald a 7% raise.

Jerry McDonald loves Coronado Shores and wants to finish his management career and continue to improve our community over the next few years.    Please  ask L and R Members to change their vote to yes to give Jerry the 7% (less than inflation!) wage increase he deserves and keep the positive momentum moving forward at Coronado Shores!
