Thank you all for your support. Together we clearly made a statement about the inappropriateness of the invitation. There is a silver lining: this event and your opposition to it sparked many discussions here at Brooklyn Public Library. Going forward we will be instituting more staff training and hosting events that center the voices of people with disabilities, as well as continuting the discussion. I for one am looking forward to change in the New York!
