Save the animals that are in brutal pain and torture
Why this petition matters

In the status quote, there are millions of pet shops around the world in which people buy their fuzzy little friends. These animals seem extremely happy and you would want to have one of them as these animals seem well cared for and treated. However, while you believe that most of these animals are well cared for and treated, their lives would most likely be horrible. For these reasons, I believe that we should illegalize selling forcefully bred pets. Others might say that there are benefits of forcefully breeding pets but I believe not and I have 3 reasons to support this. Firstly it's animal cruelty, secondly, people don’t get the message of the torturous truth, and finally, there is a heavy animal overpopulation problem in the world.
I will be presenting my first argument which is a serious issue in our world and it is animal cruelty.
When animals are forcefully bred, animals can’t just produce the eggs. Usually, breeders will cage a male and female of the same species to breed but this will take an extremely long time and as people have agreed for money, they will use inhumane methods. For example, female dogs are usually getting pumped every time so that the breeders can get the eggs, and this, according to Peta which stands for banning forcefully breeding, would further lead to the female dog producing 67,000 puppies in only six years. This is not only for dogs because, in further research, hermit crabs, cats, and all sorts of animals were also forced inhumanly. This also further relates to animal testing. Most people believe that animal testing is bad and we should illegalize it. However, females are usually spayed and neutered with new methods which can lead to the death of the animals. The consequences for this are then heavier because according to PETA, most breed dogs are not adopted or bought which means that the unadopted animals will be waiting in their small cages not able to stretch their legs once before they die. Hermit crabs are also given torture as many hermit crabs are taken from the wild and then they are forced to reproduce. This would be animal cruelty since the hermit crabs would most likely not adapt to their new habitats which mean that they would usually get stressed before they are bred. This means that hermit crabs according to research will lose their legs to relieve stress. This would further then torture the future generation since because of the genetics codes, the babies would most likely have “ugly shells” in the breeder would believe would not be pretty enough to be sold. Then the babies would get their shells peeled off and then be given a new shell most likely by force. According to research, because of this forceful breeding, only about 5 percent survive to be sold to pet stores from the hermit slaughterhouses.
My second argument is that people don’t get the message. People mostly believe that their pets came from good places and in my survey sent to students aged 10-11, out of 2 people supposedly believed that their pet lived with their mom which is wrong. Dog breeders can’t waste their time displaying their mother because they need the female to keep reproducing. So, instead of showing them how the mother gives care, they would fake the mother with a male since males of the breed will be useless as they are unable to breed and this fooling is going on with most pet shops. There are other ways people get fooled by believing that their pet was fed healthy. A break-in at Petco in the United States found out that pets were stored in warehouses in which cats could easily jump in and kill other animals that were also bred to be pets. According to Peta, these animals were then frozen and then they were fed to other animals and this is the reason why some people get sick after getting their pet from an animal breeder. Only if you break into the breeding houses people will most likely get the message which is most likely not the case since breeders would not want to get caught for doing animal cruelty. If we go back to hermit crabs if we continue the process of peeling the shells off and replacing them with pretty painted shells when people buy them, they will be buying pretty shelled animals and they will mostly believe that that came naturally but in the real case, they were torturously removed. Now, what is the general problem with people not getting the message? The general problem is that when others come over and look at the animals, they would want that animal especially if it's easy to keep like fishes and other animals. The inconvenient truth would be that animals were tortured and usually, if you knew that your pet’s life was horrible, you would say “don’t buy these pets, these pets belong in the wild!” That, however, would mostly not be the case and this can not only harm the captive pets but the same species in the wild. Since wild animals depend on each other for the species' survival, if we exclude a lot of the species to be sold, the wild animals can’t breed as quickly in the wild and most likely they would be eaten up quickly. This would result in the animal species becoming extinct.
My final argument is that there is a heavy animal overpopulation problem in the world.
In our world, there are millions or billions of animals that are on the street, and these animals are on the streets because of mostly animal breeders. Due to many movements to stop most animal breeders, many people are considering thinking again about buying their pets from animal breeders. This is now very problematic since as I mentioned that animal breeders would want to save money, they can’t afford to keep these animals when they can’t be sold. So, instead of wasting their money on the animal's food, time, and space, they would mostly rather kill or let go of the animals. Because killing is also expensive, they would free the animals, leaving hundreds and thousands of animals in the wild which could lead to street dogs which would further increase problems because of diseases. Animal rights groups, Think of all the many consequences that are going on in our world. This is one of them and if we keep legalizing this, more stray animals will appear in our world. This is not a good thing because first of all, stray animals can contain diseases that might lead to another covid 19 pandemic. If we don’t do anything about it, the heaviest consequences will be even civilization ending. Others might say that animal rescuers will quickly save these animals but I do not believe so. According to the WHO (the world health organization), they proclaimed that there are approximately 200 million stray dogs in the world currently. The thing is that exactly how are we supposed to save every 200 million if they rapidly breed while carrying diseases. To add to this, because of the covid pandemic, there is now something called comforting pets in which breeders take advantage of. They will breed more so that they can sell more but because now the covid pandemic is decreasing, breeders would release these dogs causing even more problems
Now, before any more hermit crabs get crushed, dogs are separated from their families and killed, fish go through painting
slaughterhouses, and cats lose legs, I call on you to stop this abuse and stop most animal breeders. Thank you and please take this into serious consideration.
