Devotees in Kerala are deeply distressed by the systematic plunder of our temples, carried out over decades by the Devaswom Board under both, the LDF and UDF coalitions that have governed the state. Millions of devotees of Ayyappa Swami, in Kerala and across the world, are now gripped by anguish, anxiety and fear following the shocking revelations about the loot of gold plating at Sabarimala, the very abode of their faith.

In the present circumstances, we can no longer place our trust in the State Administration or its investigative agencies. The very institutions that were meant to protect the sanctity of our temples have failed the devotees and betrayed their confidence.

We therefore earnestly and firmly call upon the Central Government to intervene and to order an independent, incisive and comprehensive investigation into this matter. This is not merely a question of administration or accounts; it is a wound on the hearts of crores of devotees. We humbly appeal to the Central Government to hear the cry of the devotees, restore faith in the systems that govern our temples, and ensure that the truth is brought to light and justice is done.
