What we know:
1.) The 9 acre lot was approved for a split into 3 lots at the Planning Commission Meeting on 12/16/2025 after STRONG neighbor opposition. We missed it by just one vote. It was the 3rd attempt at the lot split.
2.) The planning commission was restricted from considering land use or historical preservation in their vote. In addition, this matter has not been referred to the Historical Commission for their input.
3.) 105 Lynwood Blvd (the pink house) is on the market for $5,750,000 on 2.09 acres. This historic home will be burdened with a direct view of the 112 space parking lot as well as multiple surrounding Belle Meade homes and Belle Meade City Hall.
4.) A very short-term flood study has been performed. No heavy rains were included during the study. It is believed that the borings (soil drills by the engineer) did not sample the flood risk area at the corner of Lynwood and Harding. None were witnessed by neighbors who were monitoring. Most permitting requires 6 month minimum study to allow trend observation and storm response.
5.) The above picture is the plans sent out to the congregation. Ingress/Egress is off Harding. The historic stone wall will be disrupted where the horse/buggy entrance is located. 112 parking lot spaces are planned.
What we need your help with:

2.) Please reach out if you have legal expertise in this area (historic preservation, church infringement, zoning & code, etc.) and would be willing to lend a professional hand. Even advice as a lawyer. Please email savethebeautifulmeadow@gmail.com as soon as possible.
3.) Please send a letter of opposition to City Hall and reference the St George BZA submission/proposed parking lot. A very simple, short letter is completely acceptable. Mail to: Ms Mary Santiago, City Planner, 4705 Harding Road, Nashville, 37205.
4). Plan to attend the meeting on 3/17 at 4:30p. We suspect this will be the meeting date but do not officially know. Watch the city of BM website for any updates.
5) Email the Belle Meade Mayor Rusty Moore rmoore@citybellemeade.org . Voice your opposition to the proposed parking lot. Numbers matter. Please send as soon as possible.
