i adore moths, they're one of my favourite animals on this earth, and i was absolutely devastated to find that these majestic creatures seemed to be left out from having an emoji to represent them.

i know, there's an emoji for butterflies, but if there are two emojis to separate rats and mice (and also multiple pairs of emojis that are very very closely related), i feel like moths deserve the go-ahead at least.

why do we need an emoji for moths? there are several reasons why:

• moths are different from butterflies and cannot be substituted
• more and more people are showing appreciation towards moths
• moths are incredibly cute
• moths have deep symbolism to them
• and many many others that i can't fit into this description

so, unicode consortium, give moths the recognition that they deserve, and give the people the emoji they want!
