We Need Ethical Oversight in Missouri Schools: Establish the Division of Ethical School Di

The Issue

As concerned citizens, parents, teachers, and community members, we call for the immediate establishment of the Division of Ethical School District Standards (DESDS) in Missouri. This new division would hold school districts accountable for maintaining high ethical standards, ensuring that administrators and educators are acting in the best interests of the students they serve.

We are deeply troubled by the ongoing instances of unethical behavior in our schools, including:

Principal misconduct such as inappropriate relationships with teachers.
Harassment of staff, particularly those with disabilities, by school leaders.
Neglect of proper hiring processes, with principals failing to properly vet candidates and appointing unqualified individuals to positions of power.
Inaction from HR departments, whose priority seems to be covering up ethical violations rather than addressing them.
These issues are not isolated—they affect our students' safety, the well-being of our teachers, and the integrity of our educational system. It's time for real change.

We are calling on the Missouri State Legislature to:

Create the Division of Ethical School District Standards (DESDS), an organization with the authority to investigate complaints, review existing investigations, and hold school officials accountable.
Grant this division the power to remove unethical administrators and teachers who are found to have committed repeated ethical violations.
Empower this division to review complaints, including those already investigated by organizations like the EEOC or state HR departments, and take action when necessary.
We believe this change is critical for the safety and well-being of our children and the integrity of Missouri's educational system. Ethical behavior must be prioritized in our schools, and it is time for us to stand together and demand action.

By signing this petition, we show lawmakers and school leaders that we demand accountability and a transparent, ethical education system for all students and staff.

Call to Action:
Sign this petition to let Missouri lawmakers know we care about maintaining integrity in our schools and believe ethical behavior should be the standard.
Share this petition with your friends, family, and colleagues to help gather more support.
Together, we can ensure that Missouri schools are safe, fair, and held to the highest ethical standards.

"Thank you for standing up for ethical standards in Missouri schools. Your voice makes a difference!"
