We need coastal bus routes in Edinburgh & East Lothian!

We, the undersigned, call upon the City of Edinburgh and East Lothian Council to establish dedicated and frequent bus routes to serve coastal communities.

The Problem: The lack of direct coastal bus routes in Edinburgh forces passengers to rely on indirect routes and multiple transfers going into and out-of the city. This makes journeys unnecessarily long and discourages sustainable travel between these vibrant communities.

The Need: Dedicated coastal bus routes in Edinburgh that avoid the city would provide numerous benefits:

Improved connectivity
Reduced travel times
Encouragement of sustainable transport

Proposed Route: We propose two frequent bus routes

(a) Between Leith and Musselburgh
(b) Between Leith and Cramond

Timetables would be coordinated at Leith to facilitate easy transfers and minimise waiting times.
