Why is this Flight so important to the south of Haiti? 

This International flight will serve as an economical factor for at least 3 Departments (South, Nippes and Grand Anse), which will facilitate an adequate  sustainable development for the country as a whole. As decentralization is an urgent matter for the Government, It will also push the Southern Diaspora and investors to  develop the south as the necessity for basic needs is beyond essential. Not only this flight will increase our tourism sector in the South, it will create a new source of revenue for the Government as well. 

As we also know Gang Violence has sky rocketed in Haiti especially in Port -au-Prince, where our main airport is located. It is impossible for anyone from the south, the third largest department in Haiti,   to travel from the airport  through the new Baghdad of Haiti also known as "Martissant" without the fear of getting shot or kidnapped. We, Cayen/Cayenne, from the diaspora are asking the Haitian Government and the private sector to work diligently to finish the runway of our local airport in Les Cayes and give us access to a daily International flight from either Florida or New York to Les Cayes similar to Cap Haitian.

We are open to invest in our home but we need the help of the Government to make it happen, we are signing this petition to push the Government to act NOW!
