In less than 3 days almost 500 caring people have signed our petition and I want to thank everyone for their invaluable support.  However, to make a difference, to impress the Council of Uxbridge, Ontario that this is an issue that can no longer be ignored, we need more signatures from people in the Region of Durham and especially in the Uxbridge/Scugog area of Ontario.  Although, all signatures from caring, animal lovers everywhere are welcome and sincerely appreciated. 

For people who do not know the background of this story please check out a Facebook site called Build Our Shelter written by some of the amazing people who worked tirelessly for years -- over a decade actually -- to raise the money needed for a New Animal Shelter in Uxbridge/Scugog.  This new shelter is desperately needed.  The present old shelter was out of date 20 years ago.  It often does not even have potable water on site -- that is just not good enough for our animals or the staff working there.  So please, if you are comfortable doing so, ask your friends and family to sign this petition and please share it. 

The Council of the Township of Uxbridge needs to keep their promises to their community and to the needy animals of the area.
