Movement to restore Historic Fountain Hall.~*

The Issue

Erected in 1882 on the crest of Diamond Hill on the Morris Brown College campus, Historic Fountain Hall is one of the earlier structures for the original site of Atlanta University with financial support from the American Missionary Association and the Freedman's Bureau.

Historic Fountain Hall is significant to Atlanta, Georgia and the United States of America for its role in educating American descendants of enslaved Africans. For this reason, Historic Fountain Hall was made a National Historic Landmark in 1975.

Historic Fountain Hall is in urgent need of restoration & renovation. The intent of this petition is to build massive visible awareness advocating for the restoration & renovation of an essential part of Atlanta's rich history.

While Professor at Atlanta University, Dr. W.E.B DuBois a Founder of the NAACP, author of Souls of Black Folk, leading Socioligist & Pan-Africanist taught classes in this building and generations of students took college classes there while attending Morris Brown College.

In its restored & renovated state Historic Fountain Hall will serve as a Center of Excllence for Learning & Performance uplifting it's original purpose and highlighting the Office & Works of Dr. W.E.B. DuBois.
