We Must Build a New Modern System for Better Police Communication and Justice

The Issue

Petition: Stop the Justice System from Failing Victims

Right now, victims of crime are being let down by a broken justice system. The problem? Police forces and the CPS don’t have real-time access to each other’s case information across county lines.

That means dangerous criminals are slipping through the cracks—simply because the police in one area don’t know what’s happening in another. It’s not just a glitch in the system—it’s a life-threatening loophole.

This failure is destroying lives.

When crimes happen in different locations, the police and CPS aren’t automatically sharing information. Officers dealing with a so-called “minor offence” might not realise they’re dealing with a repeat offender who’s already committed violent crimes elsewhere. The result? Victims are left exposed, and dangerous people stay on the streets.

This isn’t just paperwork—it’s about real lives, real risks, and real victims who are paying the price for an outdated, disconnected system.

This is happening right now.

Here’s some quotes from real experience from various victims who have shared their trauma with us:

• “His previous convictions in other counties were not taken into account. Police and CPS treated my case in isolation, as if his past offences had never happened.”

• “The case became "my word against his", despite his documented violent history and multiple alleged violent offences against me in different counties  .”

• “The system failed to protect me—but told me to uproot my life and move away, while he faced no restrictions.”

" I was referred to as a "property offence by one officer in one county, whilst in another he was on bail for alleged non fatal strangulation- this retraumatised me as the victim and undermined what I had been through"

This isn’t just one case. It’s happening to victims across the UK.

We demand immediate action.

We, the undersigned, call on the UK Government to create a national, real-time communication system for all police forces and the CPS. No more delays. No more excuses. Every officer and every prosecutor must have access to the full picture of an offender’s history—instantly, nationwide.

Without this, victims remain in danger, and justice is compromised.

It’s simple: Either we fix this, or more victims will suffer.

Sign this petition to force change now. Protect your loved ones. Protect your community. Demand a justice system that actually works.

Note
All the above is based on my personal opinion, formed after communicating with police officers in various counties, victims across multiple jurisdictions, and court representatives.
