1. The owner of the station initiated a meeting with several residents, and while most of us were skeptical of her explanations, she said the right things in terms of improving the station. She also admitted that our efforts were having a real impact! 2. Enforcement actions by the City have started, with mandated payment of fees, taxes and fines going back 5 years and a detailed multi-agency inspection of the station on Thursday! 3. Phillips 66 finally weighed in today, saying: "The activities in question do not match the expectation the community should have of the 76 brand and are inconsistent with the values of our company . . ." Tangible action still needed, but at least now they have designated staff focused on our community. Keep your fingers crossed. 4. BUT WE CAN'T LET UP! * We now have 600 signatures, let's push again to 1,000 * Write Letters to the Editor, post on Facebook, and encourage your friends and family to BOYCOTT this station * Watch for another picketing opportunity to keep the pressure on.
