Two people were arrested locally on drug charges on Labor Day. According to information posted on the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office website, a resident of Centre, 45 year old Sandy DeWayne Gowens and Tammy Michelle Rogers, 31 of Gadsden, were each charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. Gowens was additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was booked into jail shortly before 8:30pm; Rogers was booked in just prior to 1:00am.
