When I was in 2nd grade, I won a raffle but never received my rewards. That feeling of disappointment has stayed with me, and now as an adult, I see the same injustice happening to John Leonard. He won a Harrier II jet in a PepsiCo promotion back in 1995 but was denied his prize. 

John collected the required Pepsi Points and followed all the rules of the promotion only to be told that it was all just a joke. This is not about a jet anymore; this is about justice and holding corporations accountable for their promises.

In Washington D.C., where we are based, consumer protection laws exist to prevent such deceptive practices (Consumer Protection Procedures Act). Yet cases like John's continue to occur because these laws are not always enforced effectively.
