The Danville PSPCA has recently undergone a change. Previously known as a shelter that served the community and helped animals in need, it has lately become known as a place that will NOT take in strays or owner surrenders. The manager has been shown to be rude, ineffective, lacking in basic humanity and knowledge towards and about the animals in need.
Strays are routinely turned away by the manager. Hostility, rudeness, and ignorance towards finders is common. Threatening tactics are used towards stray finders, even as far as telling them they will be fined with abandonment if they leave a stray there.
The public and the animals are suffering because of this extremely poor management.
Local rescues are overwhelmed with cases because the PSPCA refuses to help.

It is time to take action and demand that changes are made.
It is time for Danville SPCA to step up and do what they are here for! Stop turning away strays, stop this insanity of behavior tests the minute a dog walks through the door. Stop telling owners they have to pay all vet costs to surrender a dog or cat.

The new manager IS the problem. The rest of the staff is courteous and wants to help, but they are prohibited by this unqualified person.

We are demanding change! We are demanding this manager be removed or retrained. The animals of central PA are in dire need and she can not continue to turn them away! Cages are sitting empty not due to adoptions, but because she refuses to assist any animals and take them into the shelter!
