We Demand A Fair Share For Fredonia

We Demand A Fair Share For Fredonia
The Issue
UUP advocated--and won--increased funding for SUNY in this year's state budget which includes: $163 million in increased operating to close the deficits at Fredonia and 18 other financially distressed campuses. The Fredonia Administration has recently reported deficits ranging from $8-$17 million and the SUNY Trustees only allocated $2.8 million in increased operation aid to Fredonia. Due to this lack of funding given to Fredonia, today 12/6/23, President Stephen H. Kolison Jr. annouced the cut of 13 programs at SUNY Fredonia, including French, Spanish Education and Early Childhood Education, 4 Visual Arts and New Media Programs, and others! While the students currently enrolled will be able to finish their program no future students will be allowed to enroll in these programs and professors will be cut from programs. Please help the students and faculty get the funding and programs they need and deserve!
