Thank you so much for signing our petition asking the State Board of Ed. to vote for the Deal Center list of 4 top-tier, highly vetted literacy screeners! We have one more ask and it's very time-sensitive. Please Email the State Board (all emails below!) on Wednesday night (12/11/24) or Thursday morning (12/12/24) to tell them how you feel!! Please tell them that you only want the top 4 Deal Center-recommended literacy screeners to be on the GaDOE list of approved literacy screeners for our state. Please tell them that you do not support adding a fifth subpar screener to the list as a so-called "compromise!" This vote will happen on Thursday morning (12.11.24) at the state board meeting, so the time to send an email is right now. 

• Share your own story of how important it was for your child to be identified early or share what happened because your child wasn’t identified as early as you wish they had been. 
• We urge the Georgia Board of Education to approve only the Deal Center's four top-tier screeners: Amira ISIP (1), EPS Reading Assistant (2), STAR Universal Reading Suite (3) and mClass with DIBELS 8th Edition (4).
• There can be no compromise on our children’s future. We do not support adding a fifth subpar screener to the list as a so-called "compromise!" It’s time to disrupt the status quo that has led to a literacy crisis in Georgia and make necessary CHANGES for OUR CHILDREN. The board should not add a fifth screener just to appease superintendents who are reluctant to make change. We all have to Know Better and Do Better when it comes to literacy in Georgia, including our District Superintendents. 
• One child missed by these screeners is one child too many. We have had far too many children fall through the cracks in Georgia for far too many years. We've been there and done that with the subpar screeners and it's past time for change.
