We are not ok being poisened through our food and water
The Issue
I don't know about you but It's time to take a stand against the systematic poisoning of our food and water. Enough is enough, the water, eggs and veggies are even compromised. For too long, large corporations have prioritized profits over people's health, filling our food system with harmful chemicals and pollutants. As a concerned individual, it breaks my heart to see our food and water tainted by microplastics, artificial additives, harmful dyes, chemicals and pesticides. These substances are not only present in small quantities; they are pervasive and persistent. We are consuming them daily, without consent and often without being fully aware of the harmful effects.
Take microplastics, for instance. These tiny particles have infiltrated our water supplies, found not just in oceans but increasingly in our tap water and bottled water. According to a study by Orb Media, 83% of the world’s tap water samples were contaminated with plastics. This is something that our body wasn’t designed to handle, and yet, we have no choice but to consume it.
Our vegetables, too! Think about the pesticides sprayed on fruits and veggies that end up in our kitchens and, ultimately, on our plates. Many of these pesticides are linked to serious health issues, ranging from hormonal disruptions to cancer. A 2019 report by the Environmental Working Group found that nearly 70% of commonly sold produce in the United States contained pesticide residues even after washing.
The artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives added to our food are no better. A growing body of research links these additives to a host of health problems, including a significant rise in allergies and behavioral issues in children. Reproductive health issues and decreased life expectancy. Yet, the food industry continues to market these products aggressively, often without adequate labeling, leaving consumers in the dark. Systematically and slowly poisioning us all, leading to disease, illness and early death.
This it's a call to action, it doesn’t have to be this way. We can demand better. We can push for tighter regulations and higher standards for food safety. If much of what we consume is banned in other countries, what are we waiting for. Let's follow suit, we can champion the transparency of full ingredient disclosure on labels, press for the reduction and eventual elimination of harmful chemicals from our food production system, and encourage sustainable farming practices that value human health over corporate profits.
Join me in calling on lawmakers, regulatory agencies, and food companies to take immediate action. It's time to reclaim the basic human right to safe food and water. We deserve transparency, accountability, and non-toxic choices. Please sign this petition and help us demand a future where our food and water nourish rather than harm us.
