First, we want to thank you for being a valued guest of HUE Lounge & Nightclub (HUE). Since re-branding and re-opening our doors in 2015, we have aimed to provide luxury nightlife experiences for all those that have entered our venue, by booking world class celebrities and top DJs to entertain guests. The primary goal has always been to create memorable nightlife experiences, in the safest environment possible. And for the past two years, with over 50,000 people coming through our doors, no violent crimes committed on our premises and no official noise violations from the Entertainment Commission (EC); we are proud of the experiences we have created, but most of all, the community we have created.
So it is with regret, that we reach out to you and the rest of the HUE community to inform you that HUE may be in danger of losing the ability to provide live entertainment past 12am. DJs are also classified as live entertainment, so this change in our entertainment permit would have adverse affects on our business and may force us to close our doors by the end of this year.
How did this happen?
The change in our entertainment permit, was at the request of the SFPD to the Entertainment Commission, in response to a few noise complaints by neighbors. To follow up on these complaints, our premise was visited on multiple occasions by the Entertainment Commissions’ sound inspectors. Each and every time, we were found to be in compliance. To address our neighbors concerns and in an effort to fulfill San Francisco’s Good Neighbor Policy; we added a sound expert to our staff, periodically engaged sound consultants, and made many permanent changes to our establishment to provide additional sound proofing. All of this was done in good faith, and never sanctioned by the Entertainment Commission.
We have an opportunity on July 26th 2017 to present our case in front of the San Francisco Board of Appeals as to why our Entertainment Permit should not be changed, and we would like your support. By signing this petition, you are committing to the following statements about HUE Lounge & Nightclub:
1. You have only had fun, safe and enjoyable nightlife experiences at HUE Lounge & Nightclub.
2. You have never witnessed a violent and/or dangerous crime at HUE Lounge & Nightclub.
3. You believe HUE Lounge & Nightclub is important to the entertainment nightlife scene in San Francisco, and want it to remain operating until 2am.
Signing this petition will show the San Francisco Board of Appeals that we have guests who enjoy, respect and value HUE Lounge & Nightclub, and it’s position as a provider of nightlife entertainment in the City and County of San Francisco.
Thank you for listening and lending your support in this matter,
