WBTV & The Charlotte Observer hosted the only televised debate in the special election for North Carolina's 9th Congressional District, but they excluded half the field of candidates. Citing fundraising criteria, but failing to disclose their decision, these self-appointed media gatekeepers should not be deciding for voters which candidates are worthy of their consideration.
