Dear supporters of the long-form census, We did it! Within hours of taking office, Trudeau's government reinstated the long-form census, making sure it will be in place for the 2016 count. Navdeep Bains, the new minister of Innovation, Science and Development said, “Today, Canadians are reclaiming their right to accurate and more reliable information." With the long-form census restored, "communities will once again have access to the high-quality data they require.” Thank you for being one of 25,000 people to support this petition. We were heard. Together, we helped to restore a vital research and social policy tool. Most importantly, we have restored the census as a legacy for the future.
