For any college student from areas such as Philadelphia, New Jersey, Maryland and even as far south as Florida, you will know that Wawa is hands-down the best convenience store around. From their friendly staff, delicious and healthy food and overall convenience, Wawa has the hearts of many. Along with their in-store convenience, the company's non-profit foundation, The Wawa Foundation also supports many good causes including American Red Cross, The Susan G. Koman Foundation, Check-Out Hunger and even Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Despite the multitude of benefits Wawa provides, there is no Wawa in State College, PA, home of arguably one the most recognizable universities in the world, The Pennsylvania State University. This area is populated with the convenience store know as Sheetz. The word Sheetz often makes many Wawa loyalists cringe, especially those who attend Penn State. By bringing a Wawa to Penn State, this will see a multitude of benefits. On top of the University, Wawa will provide an even bigger sense of community for those who attend Penn State from Wawa populated areas. Another benefit would be the overall convenience of the store in the State College Area. The store will provide a literal 'taste of home' for those who are fortunate to have a Wawa in their area and even offer something new to try for those who aren't as fortunate to have Wawa's in their area. Also, the store offers a change of pace for students from dining hall food as they offer items such as warm Hoagies & Flatbreads, delicious soups, snacks as well as fresh coffee and beverages. By signing this petition, a sense of community is encouraged along with many benefits mentioned above. Students, Teachers, Alumni, Wawa Fanatics, sign this petition if you want to make a change and hopefully bring a Wawa to Penn State! WE ARE!
