Courtney Harris Memorial For Mental Health Support

Courtney Harris Memorial For Mental Health Support

The Issue

We recently lost one of the world’s most beautiful souls, Courtney Harris, to suicide. Even if you didn’t know her well or met her in passing, chances are that your day was instantly brightened by her electric smile and contagious laugh. She touched the lives of many with her generosity and humour despite battling each and every day. She has a huge network of close family, friends, acquaintances and neighbours who are mourning her loss but motivated to make a difference so we don’t lose anyone else the same way we lost our beautiful Courtney.

Her heart and home have been in Bondi for a long time. She lived in Bondi, ran her business from Bondi and raised her big beautiful dog Hunter in Bondi. We want her memory and legacy to live on in Bondi. We want to do this in a form of a chair in one of the many parks in the neighbourhood where you can enjoy one of her cherished sunrises.

Currently, the Waverly Council do not permit memorials but if you walk from Bondi to Bronte you will see some which have been donated. Our aim is to create plaque on an existing chair or build a new one in honour of her. This chair will be a place for those that want to reflect, remember or simply take a moment to enjoy the view. But most importantly the chair will be a place for people who are having a bad day, difficult time or battling a life long struggle can come to know they are not in it alone. The plaque will include details of a suicide support line along with her name to create awareness of an issue that has been in the dark for too long.

#onechaironechat could save a life.

Please sign the petition and help us let the memory of our beautiful Courtney live on in the place she loved most and give hope to those that need it the most.

We are also raising Money in honour of Courtney for a charity she held dear to her hard, The Black Dog Institute, you can donate here:
