River revival in Kochi - Dying, Konothupuzha river waits for revival from 2013 onwards
The Issue
E.ptn 6694/2019 --- Dying, Konothupuzha river waits for revival from 2013 onwards
We have done several requests on River Revival here on above and other several rivers of Kerala and India which remain in this condition. So a serious Govt. attention is requested to these natural and environmental concerns.
Several emails were sent to all concerned here in Kerala Govt. the Chief Minister and Irrigation or Water Resources Minister and his Irrigation Dept. teams.
Copies will be submitted to whoever looking at this issues to make sure we do something about these disasters going on here in State of Kerala or India as a whole.
As a responsible Citizen of Indi, I am requesting your full investigation into this petition raised in 2019 and until today there has been no action.

Dear Sir
I am requesting some feedback to understand if there is any progress to this request to revive this river to avoid flooding in the Tripunithara and Kochi area. We have seen all water is flowing into the highways, roads and houses during recent rains. This due to lack of any proper Drainage management and cleaning along with many dying rivers that are completly clogged with garabage waste, silt accumulation and weeds.
Kind Regards
Koshy

Dear Sir:
I am hoping all well and requesting your help and assistance to get the issue I am raising some kind attention and quick action.
My concern here is to raise the Konothupuzha river cleaning work pending since 2013, this river is completely clogged and no flow with all plastics, waste and weeds in this river that blocked the water flow completely and during rains the surrounding areas in Tripunithara is flooded and putting many houses in deep concern and other health hazards.
The petition is already with the MLA of Tripunithara and MP of Kochi and this may reach your desk sooner.
We should use the latest smarter methods and dredging technology to get this work done so it will be done very effectively with much lower costs.
Also I am given to understand from my colleagues in Kochi that there is German Govt. interest in developing Water Metros on these rivers in Kochi which is a very great initiaive that we should give full support and back-up to have this implemented for big time tourism development and also to improve on other alternatives of public transport system.
I would sincerely request proper action be taken to revive this river for the sake of many people residing around this areas that is flooded during every rain.
There are many news articles on this on google. I am placing some for your kind review and attention as to why there is such a lack of any action plan to get this water flow revived.

Dear Dr. V.P. Joy IAS
Greetings from Tripunithura, Ernakulam
I am requesting your help in this matter as there is no action plan until now on this dead polluted river here.
This river needs to be dredged 7 to 10 ft to allow flow of water and take rain water or it is flooded in all adjacent properties creating flooding in residential areas on all these river banks.
Also we may expect a Water metro line via this route.
I have shared with you my e-petition, pictures of the river situation.
